Girls Summer Lacrosse Program

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

The Woodstock Rec is pleased to announce the creation of a  6-week girls lacrosse program starting Tuesday, June 23rd for 2nd through 6th-grade participants. The grade that your child just graduated from will be the grade they register for.  As an example, if your child just finished 6th grade and is going to become a middle schooler, according to our program for the summer he is still a 6th grader.

As the state of Vermont and Governor Scott ease restrictions on organized youth sports leagues this has opened up the opportunity to provide a modified lacrosse program to replace the cancelation of our spring season.

**The CDC and the State of Vermont consider Lacrosse a low contact or short-duration, incidental contact sport. This title allows no to low contact physical conditioning and skill-building drills as well as initiating expanded team practice sessions that include small-sided, intra-squad scrimmages. Participants will be kept in small groups.  Group numbers, including the players and coaches, may not exceed current limits on social gathering - currently 25 or fewer individuals.

What does this mean for our program?  There will be 3 coaches at each practice which will limit us to 22 player participants for each session.  The schedule will anticipate one team at the 2/3/4 level and one for the 5/6 level (22 player participants and 3 coaches)  if registrations numbers exceed the maximum of 22 players we will modify the schedule (additional sessions) to provide room for all registered players.  We ask that you please be patient if schedules change and understand this will be a work in progress.

Program schedule is as follows:

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays, Beginning Tuesday, June 23rd

  • 2nd/3rd/4th grade girls - 5 to 6 pm

  • 5th/6th grade girls - 6 to 7 pm

The program costs $40 per participant.
Important note:
Open enrollment throughout the season, ONLY if there are open spaces
Registrations will be offered to Woodstock Union Community members children and past Woodstock youth lacrosse players first, before all others.

The location for practices will be at the Prosper Valley school.

To avoid congestion and maintain social distancing.

  • 2/3/4 players should be dropped off and picked up in front of the Prosper school.

  • 5/6 players should be dropped off and picked up in the field parking lot before school.  This will be marked for your convenience.

  • Players should be dressed in the proper gear for practice.

  • Have your player come to practice ready and prepared to start when they arrive

  • At the conclusion of practice please be prepared to collect your player and leave the school to go home ASAP.  We must follow CDC and the State of Vermont's guideline to the best of our/everyone's ability.
